Parenting: 5 Questions to Get to the Heart

As a follow up from last week’s worship gathering, Dr. Paul Tripp gives five questions to help get to the heart of your children. This takes time and patience, but by God’s grace the questions give a pathway toward the heart and help us in shepherding our children in the gospel. The questions are: What was going on? The point is to get some sort of telling of the situation. Establish a story that reveals the perceived facts. What were you thinking and feeling as it was happening? This question goes after the heart. What was the motivation of the heart? This question helps us teach our children that our heart is always desiring something and it helps us and them to evaluate it. What did you do in response?
